Maleque urges all not to be panicked over Coronavirus

Health Minister Zahid Maleque urged
people not to be panicked in case of any detection of coronavirus case in the country as the government has sufficient preparation to face the outbreak of the virus.
The minister said this on Tuesday while addressing a press briefing at the Health Ministry conference room over the preparation of Bangladesh over Coronavirus. “We have taken overall preparations to prevent the Coronavirus spread….the virus will not be able do any harm, if it [the virus] enters into the country,” he said.
Regarding the precautionary measures to combat the Coronavirus, the health minister said the government has formed two separate 10-member committee in each district and upazila led by deputy commissioner and upazila nirbahi officer respectively.
Besides, a 31-member high powered committee with the representatives from the World Health Organisation (WHO), Asian Development Bank (ADB), UNICEF, World Bank and USAID has been formed in this regard. With the Health Minister in the chair, the committee comprises cabinet secretary, principal secretary and others senior secretaries, the minister added.
Separate isolated units have been kept ready at all the public and private hospitals across the country. The physicians and nurses have already imparted training how to deal the Coronavirus patients.
High officials of the ministry were present at the press briefing.
