Malaysian woman held with gold taken on remand

A Dhaka court yesterday (Wednesday) placed a Malaysian woman on a two-day remand after she was produced to the court with a ten-day remand plea to quiz her in connection with gold smuggling.
Magistrate Emdadul Haque of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order after hearing. Earlier, Airport Police Station Sub-Inspector Kamrul Hasan
Talukder produced accused Baslina Bisti Raja Malek to the court.
The remand prayer says that, Baslina Bisti came to Shahjalal International Airport in a flight of Malaysian Airlines on Tuesday noon. Customs employees of the airport recovered six gold bars worth Tk three crore from her jacket while she was crossing the green channel of the airport. The remand petition also says that Baslina Bisti came Bangladesh many times earlier.
