Mahmudullah retains Khulna Titans captaincy

National cricket team’s dependable cricketer Mahmudullah Riyad has been given again the helm to lead Khulna Titans in this year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Khulna Franchises managing director and Bangladesh Cricket Board director Kazi Inam Ahmed disclosed it at a press conference held on Wednesday at the city’s hotel.
Riyad who is going to serve as captain for Khulna Titans for the second times, said they nearly got optimum success in last year’s BPL for the full team efforts and he hoped to keep the consistency in this year’s BPL as well.
Riyad said, ” I am looking forward to the honour bestowed to me by my franchise. It will be great chance of learning under the Sri Lankan great Mahela Jayawardene. This year so far what we have recruited it looks much stronger in every department.”
In the press conference Khulna Franchises also formally announced Sri Lankan’s great Mahela Jayawardene as its new coach for the upcoming BPL.
Though he was as a player of last edition of BPL, but now he will be seen as his new role this time.
In his immediate reaction, Mahela said he has visited here lot of occasions having many pleasant moments and hopefully finish this year’s BPL with same moments. He is also ready to take up challenge for his new job.
The Sari Lankan great, who played the last edition of BPL, said he observed many competitive tournaments here.
Commenting about Mahmudullah, Mahela said he is a good cricketer and Khulna Titans would be able to show something good under his leadership in this year’s BPL.
Khulna Titans team manager Nafees Iqbal and advisor Habibul Bashar Sumon, were among others, also present on the occasion.
