Md. Nur-e-Alam, Judge of Anti Women and Children Repression Tribunal-2, Bagerhat, in a judgment delivered on Thursday noon, convicted Ilias Zomaddar (48), Superintendent of Khontakata Rashidia Swatantra Ibtedayee Madrasa under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district and son of one Abdul Gaffor Zomaddar of village Rajapur under the same Upazila and sentenced him to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life and to pay a fine of Tk.20 thousand in default to suffer another rigorous imprisonment for one year more on the charge of committing rape with a girl student (11) of Class-V of the same Madrasa.
The prosecution story, in short, is that on August 08 in the year 2019 the convicted Madrasa Super asked the girl to wait in the library room as he was willing to teach her specially. Accordingly, the girl waited in the library. But after the classes were over and all the students and teachers left the Madrasa, the debauched Super closed the doors of the library and committed rape with the girl forcibly instead taking special class. The victim girl hails from Uttar Khontakata near the Madrasa. In this connection father of the victim girl registered a case with Sharankhola PS against the Madrasa Super under Anti-Women and Children Repression Act as the plaintiff. Police investigated into the matter and submitted a charge sheet to the court on November 13 in the same year.
The learned judge after examining the witness and evidences found the accused Madrasa Super guilty amd awarded him the aforesaid punishment.
