Observing the great possibility of mushroom farming, one Litun Aktar, a housewife of Daulatpur Railygate area in Khulna city has achieved success by cultivating mushroom. She sells 300 to 400 pieces of mushroom on every days. on a recent spot visit this correspondent found in the mushroom center of Litun Aktar that she was taking care of mushroom along with some of her staffs.
Everyday she herself takes care of mushroom from dawn to dusk, Litun, however, cultivated mushroom at first alone. But at present four staffs are working in her mushroom farming content. Litun Aktar said, at present we are eating those.
Vegetables which are produced by using insecticides which are very harmful for human body. according to the physicians. But in cultivating mushroom no insecticide is used. Besides, mushroom is full of nutrition and it is also beneficial for different diseases including heart, disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer. After hearing the beneficence Litun Aktar looked after mushroom here there, but she did not find. As such she went to the capital city Dhaka and purchased mushroom from there. After eating mushroom she felt comfortable. At the same time eagerness for cultivating mushroom arose in her mind. Thereafter, she complete 3 month long training on mushroom farming from Natural mushroom cultivation enhancing centre. After completing the training, Litun took seedlings of mushroom from there and then she built a mushroom farming after at a hired house at Railygate area in Daulatpur of Khulna. This farming has brought huge success for Litun and as such she opened another branch beside for first center. Every in the morning, many men purchase mushroom from her centers. In her two centers, 40 to 60 kg mushrooms are produced. one kilogram of mushroom in selling for Tk. 300 after selling mushroom, two remaining are made as powder by drying and this powder is sold at the rate of taka 4000 (four thousand) per kg. her husband, who is serving in an NGO always encourages her in respect of cultivating mushroom.
For making two centers Litun has spent taka around ten lakh.
How ever, at present Litun is producing different types of mushrooms including wester, follow, PSP, POP and HK-51.
Litun Aktar further said, no large place and huge capital are hot necessary for the cultivation of mushroom, it can be cultivated even at home. unemployed persons can cultivate mushroom by which they can earn a lot of money, she added. Litun Akter assured of expanding her helping hands to those persons who have eagerness to get training for cultivation of mushroom.
