Four people including two women have been killed in lightning strikes in Fatikchari, Mirsarai and Boalkhali. Two women, one of them is a student and the other is a day laborer. The incident took place on Sunday (June 6) morning.
It is learned that student Sajjad Hossain (18) was struck by lightning while working in the field with his father in East Domkhali Ward No. 9 of Saherkhali Union of Mirsarai at around 10 am. His father was injured at the time. Sajjad is a 10th class student of a local school. UP member Ayub Alam told this reporter that his son was killed by lightning while working in the field with his father and his father was seriously injured. The father was rescued and sent to a local hospital. Meanwhile, a day laborer named Mohammad Jahangir (39) was killed in a lightning strike in Boalkhali.
The incident took place around 10:30 am while working in a lemon orchard in Garjangia area of Jaisthapura hill of the upazila.
