Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in several parts of the country.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at a few paces over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” a met office press release said..
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The low pressure area over Northwest Bay and adjoining west central Bay now lies over North West bay off Odisha coast.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Bihar, centre of the low and thence northeastwards to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 34.8 degrees Celsius at Nikli and minimum temperature on Saturday 24.4 degrees Celsius at Teknaf.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday was recorded 47 millimeters (mm) in Rangpur.
