Liberation War Museum (LWM) has chalked out a week-long programme starting on March 7 over the UNESCO recognition of historic 7th March, 1971speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as a world documentary heritage.
As part of the programme, the LWM authority will hold a discussion at 5 pm on March 7 at the museum auditorium in the city’s Agargaon area, Programme Coordinator of the museum Rafiqul Islam told.
Former Bangladesh Ambassador to France and permanent representative to the UNESCO Shahidul Islam will address the discussion as the chief speaker, he said.
Later, a week-long photo exhibition on the historic 7 March speech will be inaugurated on the museum premises that will continue till March 13, he added.
The people, who had boycotted Radio Pakistan in 1971, protesting the Pakistan government’s decision of not broadcasting Bangabandhu’s 7 March speech, will inaugurate the photo exhibition, Rafiqul said.
The 7th March speech of Bangabandhu in 1971 provided inspiration to the Bengali nation in their quest for freedom and emancipation. The speech also energised the entire nation and prepared the people for the liberation struggle.
It also served as the ultimate source of inspiration for the countless freedom fighters who joined the Mukti Bahini.
