A legal notice has been served upon Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) VC Prof Aminul Haque Bhuyan to give time scale to an officer of the university.
Supreme Court lawyer Adv Khadiza Akter sent the notice on the behalf of the university as Additional Registrar Fazlur Rahman which was reached at the VC office on Sunday.
The notice was also served on Registrar Ishafaqul Hossain. He confirmed of receiving the notice.
The notice said a 4th scale consumer officer of SUST Fazlur Rahman applied for getting time scale after he fulfilled all criteria for time scale (upper scale) on January 8, 2015, . But his application was turned down at the 195th syndicate meeting held on January 31, 2016.
The notice also asked to fulfill the demand within three working days, otherwise a writ petition to be filed with the High Court.
