UNB, Chittagong :
Police recovered the body of a lawyer from his residence near Boro Mia Mosque under Chawkbazar police station in the port city on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Omar Faruk Bappi, 40, son of Ali Ahmed of Ali Kadam upazila of Bandarban district.
Nurul Huda, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station said, tipped off, police rushed in and recovered the body of Faruk with his hands and legs tied up with rope and mouth covered with tape.
Bappi might have been strangled to death over family dispute, said the police official, adding that the man was wanted in a dowry case filed by his wife in January.
The deceased also filed two cases against his wife in 2014.
