Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenaidah came under 100 per cent electrification coverage in 10 upazilas of the district on Sunday. Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina launched the programme through a video conference.
Deputy Commissioner Jakir Hossain conducted the launching programme at his conference room where lawmakers Nabi Newaz, Anwarul Azim Anar, deputy secretary of the electrification department Yesmin Begum, Police Super Mijanur Rahaman, additional deputy commissioner Asaduzzaman, Awami League Jhenaidah district unit general secretary.
also Jhenaidah municipality mayor Saidul Karim Mintu, Jhenaidah district council chairman Kanak Kanti Das, Civil Surgeon Rasheda Sultana among others present.
Mention may be made that 100n per cent electricity coverage was ensured through 25,259 connections in 444 kilometre lines at a cost of Taka 76 crore in Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenaidah.
