Staff Reporter :BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia remained confined in her Gulshan office in the city for the fourth day on Tuesday. She was staying in her office till filing the report at about 10:00 PM. Police has condoned off her office since Saturday night and did not allow her to come out of the premises.Police cordoned off the office as soon as the BNP-led 20-party alliance announced that it would hold a rally January 5 despite the police not permitting it to do so.Police locked up main gates of Khaleda Zia’s office and huge number of uniformed and plainclothesmen were deployed around her office. The sand trucks were kept in front of her office on Sunday, were not seen on Tuesday, but water cannon and a number of trucks are there. The main gate is still under lock and key.Gulshan police inspector Feroz Kabir told media that they were not certain how long the ‘situation’ would continue. ‘We will leave the place once we get order from high ups,’ he said.State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the law enforcers would accompany the BNP chairperson if she prefers to go home.Meanwhile a team of Tablig Jamaat went to Gulshan office in the afternoon to meet Khaleda Zia for inviting her to the Bishwa Ijteme to be held in Tongi. But, the team could not met the BNP chief, as she is ill.
