Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Ltd has taken initiatives for gas riser checking to avoid any fatal incident including fire . With this view of the initiatives, KGDCL will check about 1.50 lakh Gas Riser in the Port City from first week of the next month at free of cost. KGDCL sources said if any fault or leakage is detected in the riser, will be repaired instantly .
Meanwhile 30 checking teams consist of hundred engineers and 40 repairing technicians were constituted . KGDCL hoped after checking the risers of domestic and industrial use , the fatal incidents side by side of depreciation of gas will be declined .
General Manager of KGDCL Md. Sarowar Hossain confirmed their decisions of gas riser checking to avoid any sorts of gas incident s.Mentionable that in last 9 months, about 5 lakh gas risers were checked under the finance of World Bank Project. Sources said there are 5.97lakh gas connections in the city .
