Tips on how to keep your skin, healthy, soft and supple during winters
Who doesn’t love to cuddle up in quilts near that cozy fireplace at home with a cup of coffee and some interesting company? Well, we all do! And one of the best time to do so are winters. The cool breeze the warm sunshine and vibrant colours of cardigans simply makes you fall in love with winters. However, one has to be extra careful during this chilly time as our skin needs extra care and attention, so that it remains supple, soft and healthy and also it never deprived of the necessary nutrients. So here are some tips that will help you to keep your skin healthy during winters:
1. Eat healthy: One of the pivotal rules for a healthy skin in any season, especially in winters is to eat right and healthy. Fresh fruits, raw vegetables, salads, dry fruits and warm food are a must for a healthy skin. Also drink in lots of water, green tea and fresh juices so that the body has enough amounts of liquids which will wash of all the toxins from the body.
2. Moisturize regularly: Your moisturizer may work well during spring, summer and rains, but for winters your moisturizer should be able to keep your skin moisturized for a longer time. An oil-based moisturizer is much more safer and useful than a water-based moisturizer, as the oils in the cream helps to maintain a protective layer on the skin. however, be careful if you have an oily skin, as these oil-based moisturizers can be the reason for oil breakouts. So use a moisturizer that has avocado oil, mineral oil, primrose oil, or almond oil.
3. Sunscreen is a must: Just because it’s winters, not applying sunscreen is not an excuse. The sun’s rays are harmful even in winter, whether it’s cold gloomy day or a cold sunny day, sunscreen is a must.
4. Lip care is important: Winters also affects the skin on our lips. Make sure that you apply a lip balm preferably with sunscreen before you leave home. Also exfoliate it regularly to remove dead skin cells. An easy exfoliation method is to gently massage your lips with a soft bristled toothbrush and rinsing it out with normal water.
5. Bathing water should be lukewarm: Avoid having baths with extremely hot water, as they wash off the nutrients from your skin. Always used lukewarm water or a combination of hot and cold water. The intensity of heat of a hot shower can break the lipid barriers of skin, which removes the moisture of the skin. Use home made packs for bathing during winters. -Internet
