Kayes’s ton helps Bangladesh A to earn draw in four-dayer

Nurul Hasan and Robiul Islam of Bangladesh A’s last wicket pair survived 23 tense minutes till end of day’s play to earn a draw against Sagicor High Performance Centre in the second and final four-day game held on Thursday in the Barbados.
But Sagicor took the series 1-0 after a crushing win in the first four-dayer at Lucas Street.
Bangladesh resumed their second innings on the fourth day (Thursday) with overnight 32 for no loss to chase the massive total and finally scored 242 for 9 in 142 overs at stumps.
Prior to their stubborn stand, Imrul Kayes had held fort for the visitors with his eighth first-class century. He struck 15 fours and two sixes during his 334-minute stay at the crease. He only found support from Shuvagata Hom, with whom he added 89 runs for the sixth wicket before Imrul was dismissed by Miguel Cummins.
Sheldon Cottrell was the pick of Sagicor bowler taking four wickets for 51 runs. He was well supported by Miguel Cummins, who bagged two wickets conceding 49 runs.
The first one-day of the three-match series between the two sides will be held on Sunday (June 8) at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
