The Kaptai Lake fishing will begin from Wednesday’s midnight after a 103 days ban.
The decision was taken at a meeting at Rangamati Deputy Commissioner office conference room recently.
The ban period began on 7th May midnight this year. It is the first time that 30 Members of Coast Guard were deployed for arresting illegal fishing.
During the ban period the authority distributed food grain among the fishermen through special VGF card.
A total of 18,960 marginal fishermen got the incentive while 1,200 fishermen were provided with food security.
A quantity of 20 MT Carp fish fingerlings was released in the lake during ban period.
