Kapasia Freedom Fighter Milon’s funeral held with state honour

Alhaj Anwar Hossain Milon, a resident of Baratek village in Kapasia Sadar Union of Gazipur, was laid to rest at the family graveyard on Sunday morning. Earlier on Saturday night, he died while undergoing treatment at CMH in Dhaka. He was 68 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by 4 brothers, 2 sisters, wife, two sons, a daughter, grandchildren and many more. He is the son of the late Attash Ali of that village.
After the formality of Janaza prayers of the deceased, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rubaiya Yasmin on behalf of the Upazila Administration laid a wreath under the national flag in the coffin.
Later, at the last farewell of the deceased, all those present with humble reverence stood and observed a minute of silence. At that time a smart team of Kapasia police gave him a guard of honor.
Earlier, President of Kapasia Upazila Awami League, former MP Alhaj Muhammad Shahidullah, freedom fighter MA Gani, freedom fighter Mofiz Uddin, Mustafa Kamal, niece of the late journalist Saiful Islam Shahin, vice chairman of Upazila Parishad Md. Asaduzjan spoke seeking forgiveness of the soul of the deceased.
Among others, former commander of Kapasia Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad Bazlur Rashid Mollah, freedom fighter Samsuddin Khan, freedom fighter Joynal Abedin and many others were present at the time. Later, Lieutenant Colonel Moinul Hossain Rumi of Bangladesh Army, the eldest son of the late, expressed his gratitude to the worshipers present and offered prayers for their father. Imam and Khatib Maulana Mahmudul Hasan Maruf offered Janaza prayers at the Central Jame Mosque in Kapasia Bazar.
