The parliamentary standing committee on public accounts in its 6th meeting on Monday reviewed the audit objections of Rajuk, Railways Ministry and LGRD’s local government engineering department.
The committee recommended the authorities concerned to seek explanation from the concerned superintending engineer and executive engineer of Cox’s Bazar for signing an agreement involving Tk 4,44,99,217 violating respective rules and regulations. It also recommended formation of a committee to inspect the progress of the work and submit a report within 30 days.
About the audit objection for not deducting Tk 32, 47,499 from bills of contractors, the committee recommended the authorities concerned to submit a report on it inspecting the real progress of the work.
Committee chairman Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir presided over the meeting which was attended by Md Abdus Shahid, Mohammad Aman Ullah, Md Ishaq Hossain Talukder, Md Afsarul Amin, Begum Rebeka Momin, Moin Uddin Khan Badal, AKM Maidul Islam, Md Rustom Ali Farazi and Begum Wasika Ayesha Khan.
