The Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Welfare recommended for strengthening surveillance in Rohingya camps.
The recommendation came up in the 10th meeting of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Welfare held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with committee chairman Rashed Khan Menon in the chair.
The watchdog recommended to improve and regularly monitor the management activities of three Child Development Centers: Children Development Centre in Tongi, Gazipur, Poolerhat Child Development Center in Jashore (Boys) and Juvenile Development Centre, Konabari, Gazipur (girls). The meeting also suggested creating of Management Information System (MIS) database for the beneficiaries of social security strategies or social security activities and transferring of all allowances in digital payment system (G2P payment).
The committee also recommended extending the deadline for submission of the report of the parliamentary committee on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al Nahyan Trust (Bangladesh).
Committee members Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Sagufta Yasmin, Nasreen Jahan Ratna, A K M Sarwar Jahan, Aroma Dutta, Shabnam Jahan and Kazi Kaniz Sultana attended the meeting.
State Minister for Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru joined the meeting on special invitation.
