The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Fisheries and Livestock Ministry recommended stopping of illegal use of cattle-fattening drugs.
The committee came up with the recommendation at its 5th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Thursday with Committee Chairman Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu in the chair.
Committee members Md Shahidul Islam (Bakul) and Najma Akhter attended the meeting.
Different activities taken by the ministry to celebrate the year of 2020 as “Mujib Year” were discussed at the meeting.
The committee recommended for motivating the fishermen and the fish cultivators to cope with the emergency situation due to floods after gathering appropriate data.
It also recommended creating two ‘director general’ posts under the ministry and formulating a long-term master plan to build the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry as a modern and time-befitting one.
