Jatiya Press Club (JPC) on Friday arranged a milad and doa mahfil seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Syed Ahiya Bakht, a senior journalist and permanent member of the club, as well as early recovery of its six ailing members.
Syed Ahiya Bakht breathed his last at a Singapore Hospital at 11 am on Friday while veteran journalists Ferdous Ahmed Qureishi, Belal Chowdhury and Shubho Rahman and journalists Enamul Haque Babul of BSS, Pranab Saha of Channel-i, Nurul Islam Khokan and Asaduzzaman Samrat have been suffering from various ailments.
A large number of JPC members including Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Abul Kalam Azad and JPC General Secretary Farida Yasmin joined the milad and doa mahfil at the club’s front lobby after Asr prayers .
