The leaders of journalist community in Chittagong condemned the speech of finance minster and demanded its withdrawal within 24 hours. The leaders also demanded declaration of 9th wages board for the journalists immediately.
They threatened that if the minister concerned does not declare 9th wages board immediately and tries to make conspiracy against the journalist community, the Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) would declare continuous movement.
The CUJ held protest rally at Chittagong Press Club premises on Thursday morning. The leaders of journalist’s community expressed dissatisfaction over the role of the information minister and finance minister saying that where the prime Minister is interested to declare the wage board for journalists, the information minister and finance minister are locking in conspiracy against the journalist community by delay dallying.
The leaders of journalist’s community also demanded to stop all types of conspiracy against the Journalists. In the meeting, the leaders of the journalist’s community urged the government to take step against those newspaper owners who denied implementation of 8th wages board declared earlier. President of CUJ Reaz Hyder presided over the meeting. Among others, General SecretaryMohammad Ali, former presidents of CUJ Shahid Ul Alam, Hasan Ferdous, Masudul Haq, S M Ibrahim, Mohammad Ali Pasha, Shariar Hasan addressed the meeting.
