Journo’ s father Pulok Chatterjee passes away

Freedom Fighter Bishwapati Chatterjee, leader of teachers association and father of daily Samakal bureau chief, Barishal Journalist Union president Pulok Chatterjee, passes away on early Saturday.
He was 75 and suffering from old age complications including bronchitis.
After becoming severely respiratory problem at home about 8:00 PM Friday, he was rushed to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital around 12:00 AM Saturday and attending doctors at emergency unit declared him as dead.
Bishwapati Chatterjee, a native from Kakarda under Bakerganj upazila of Barishal and retired from teaching profession as headmaster of Altaf Memorial Secondary School of the city.
He left 2 sons and a daughter and his wife Aroti Chatterjee passed away on December 1, 2019.
After giving state honour as freedom fighter by the district administration at his home, dead body of Bishwapati Chatterjee was creamed at Barishal Maha Shamshan Ghat cremation ground on Saturday afternoon.
Leaders of different socio-cultural-professional organizations including Barishal Reporters Unity, Barishal Journalist Union, Press Club, Muktijoddha Sangsad, Sngskritik Sangothan Samonnoy Parishad, Teachers Association, Bar Association, visited home and attending funeral ceremony expressed their deep condolence in the demise of Freedom Fighter Bishwapati Chatterjee.
