Family members and journalists in Jessore demanded justice for the killing of RM Saiful Alam Mukul, former editor of Jessore based Bangla newspaper Daily Runner. The demand came from condolence meetings commemorating the 17th anniversary of death of the journalist on Sunday.
Journalist RM Saiful Alam Mukul was assassinated by some unidentified assailants near his residence at Bezpara in the town at around 10pm on August 30, 1998.
His father Golam Mazed was also killed in torture by the then government during the era of HM Ershad. His son Anjan’s body was found dead at his residence few years back. But the victim’s family did not get justice for any of the killing.
Jessore Press Club, Journalists Union of Jessore and Mukul’s family chalked out various programmes to mark the day.
