Wrestler turned actor John Cena has tied the knot with girlfriend Shay Shariatzadeh after a year of dating. The couple tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony on Monday, in Tampa, Florida, states court documents obtained by Us Weekly.
Shay Shariatzadeh was born in Iran but is a Canadian citizen. The 31-year-old studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University of British Columbia and received her bachelor’s degree in 2013. Shariatzadeh works as a product manager for a tech company in Vancouver.
The couple, who has been painting the town red with their cute PDA and quiet dinner dates, sparked engagement rumours in February. Reports of John popping the question to the beauty began doing the rounds after she was spotted wearing a large diamond ring on her left hand.
“A happy marriage is a long conversation that always seems too short,” Cena tweeted. John and Shay, first sparked romance rumours in March 2019, less than a year after his highly publicised split from fiancée Nikki Bella. The star was in a 6-year-long relationship with Bella before they decided to go their separate ways in April 2018.
Cena was previously married to Elizabeth Huberdeau from 2009 to 2012.
