The Jagannath University Teachers’ Association (JnUTA) refused the recent uniform guidelines by University Grant Commission (UGC) over teachers’ recruitment and promotion at the public universities, a press release says.
This decision was made after a emergency meeting held at JnUTA office recently which was signed by the association’s President Prof Depika Rani Sarker and General Secretary Prof Md Noor Mohammad, the press release Added.
They have expressed their concern over the “bureaucratic move for formulating a uniform guideline”. They alleged such kind uniform guidelines are against the university’s act and allegedit destroyed the vanity of teachers.
They said if government issues such uniform guidelines that will be hindered making session-jam free university education. So, Jagannath University Teachers’ Association is strongly rejecting such policy.
The JnUTA, however, urged the government to include educationists, intellectuals, and teachers’ representatives so that they can express their opinions on the matter as only the government high officials, and UGC chairman along with its members were invited to the meeting.
It’s noted that, according to new uniform guidelines for teachers recruitment in public universities both written and oral examination have included in the recruitment process.
