A Jubo League leader was stabbed to death allegedly by a neighbour in Batabaria area of Manoharganj upazila on Friday afternoon over a trifling matter.
The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam, 30, a leader of Sarashpur union unit of Jubo League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League.
Bipul Chandra Bhatta, officer-in-charge of Manoharganj Police Station, said Jahangir locked into an altercation with one of his neighbours in the area around 4:30pm over loading a tractor with soil. At one stage, the neighbour swooped on
him and stabbed him with a sharp weapon which left him critically injured.
He was taken to Manoharganj Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injuries later.
