Terrorists hacked a local Jubo League leader to death and critically injured his father in Gazipur city on Monday morning. This tragedy occurred at Deora of the city.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Motaleb, 32, President of a faction of Jubo League of Ward Number 29 of Gazipur City Corporation.
He was the son of local contractor Mofazzal Hossain. Sources said, victim Motaleb went out of his house located at Chhoto Deora around 8am hearing the call of Jubo Dal activist Zahir Uddin.
A gang of miscreants took Motaleb away from his house and stabbed him with sharp weapons.
“My brother was also seriously injured in the attacks when he tried to save his son,” Motaleb’s uncle Lokman said it to media. Pranay Bhushan , Resident Doctor of Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital said, Locals rushed the victim to hospital without delay.
The victim’s father Mofazzal Hossain had been brought to Dhaka for better treatment, he added.
Motaleb’s family was engaged in a dispute with another family known as the ‘Lashkars’ in the neighbourhood, said Md Shahjahan Miah Shaju, Counsellor of Ward 29 in the Gazipur City Corporation.
“A gang of people led by Motaleb attacked the residence of Swapan Lashkar two days ago which might have led to the murder,” he said. The police have already begun an operation to arrest the perpetrators involved in the incident, said OC Sameer Chandra Sutradhar.
