Japanese Ambassador in Dhaka Masato Watanabe said the Japanese government will provide more scholarships to Dhaka University students for higher study in Japan.
He said the friendly ties between Bangladesh and Japan have been prevailing for long.
Masato Watanabe said this on Tuesday while addressing the orientation programme for the Masters 12th Batch students of the Japan Study Centre (JSC) of Dhaka University (DU) as the chief guest held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.
JSC Director Prof Dr Abul Barkat presided over the function while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad addressed it as special guest.
Watanabe called for strengthening this bilateral relationship between the
two countries.
He thanked the Japan Study Centre of DU for playing an effective role in
promoting Japanese history, culture and education.
