UNB, Dhaka :The Hindu community of the country will celebrate Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna, on Sunday with due festivity and religious fervour. The day is a public holiday.Different socio-cultural and religious organisations, including Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad and Mohanagar Sarbojoneen Puja Committee, chalked out various programmesmarking the day. The progammes include worship of Lord Krishna, puja, Geeta Jagna, Kirtan, discussions and peace processions.President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina greeted the Hindu community on the occasion in separate messages.The traditional Janmashtami procession will be brought out from Dhakeswari Temple.Similar programmes have been chalked out across the country to mark Lord Krishna’s birthday.
