Some 1160 officers of Janata Bank have alleged that they have been deprived of promotion for years. According to sources in the bank, at least 2437 candidates joined Janata Bank as officers and cash officers through the Bankers’ Recruitment Committee (BRC) of the Bangladesh Bank in 2011and 2012 while working 1679 officers.
Banking policy says that the officers deserve promotion at the end of one year from the date of joining. But 758 officers only got promotion in 2018 while 1160 officers have been deprived of justice.
The management of the Janata Bank promoted 758 officers to the post of principal officers on December 31, 2018. “We are deprived of promotion though banking policy says different story,” said an officer of Janata Bank.
An official said that the management promoted the officers who joined in 2011 and 2012 as senior officers in 2018. So, the officers are requesting the authorities concerned to consider their appeal for promotions.
