Jail Killing Day observed in Joypurhat

The Jail Killing Day was observed here on Wednesday with paying glowing tributes to the memories of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four martyred national leaders, reports BSS.
The four national leaders — Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Captain M Mansur Ali and AHM Quamaruzzaman — were killed inside the Dhaka Central Jail on this day in 1975.
Different political, socio-cultural organizations, including district Awami League (AL) and its associate organization of the district unit, have observed the day through various programmes.
As part of the programmes, local AL leaders and workers and associate bodies of the district formally placed wreaths at the portraits of Bangabandhu and four national leaders at district AL office this morning following health safety guidelines amidst COVID-19 pandemic.
Special prayers were also offered at all mosques and other places of worships seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and four national leaders.
Marking the day, a discussion on “Jail Killing Day” was also held this morning at the district Awami League office with District Mohila Awami League President Shammim Aziz Saj in the chair.
Chairman of the district council and president of the district Awami League Arifur Rahman Rocket spoke as the chief guest.
The meeting was addressed among others by district Mohila Awami League General Secretary Sabina Sultana, District Awami League General Secretary Md Zakir Hossain, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman SM Solaiman Ali, District Awami League Vice-President Raja Chowdhury, Golam Haqqani, Zahidul Alam Benu, Monirul Shahid Munna,
