Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and North South University (NSU) won their respective matches in the 7th ULAB Fair Play Cup Inter-Private University T20 Cricket Tournament at the ULAB playground in Mohammadpur area here on Thursday.
Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) beat Eastern University (EU) by 13 runs.
IUB batted first and scored a moderate 115 runs for 6 in stipulated 20 overs.
Rafat Waliullah of IUB contributed a polished 47 runs off 49 balls and was adjudged man of the match.
In reply, EU folded their innings at 102 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in quota 20 overs.
Earlier in the day’s first match, North South University (NSU) beat Northern University of Bangladesh (NUB) by 6 wickets.
Sent into bat first, Northern University of Bangladesh (NUB) scored 116 runs for 6 in allocated 20 overs with Rimon making 40 runs off 32 balls.
In reply, NSU reached their target scoring 117 runs for the loss of only 4 wickets in 17.3 overs.
Mullar of NSU quickfired 42 runs off just 27 balls to be adjudge man of the match.
Today’s matches: East West University (EWU) vs University of Asia Pacific (UAP) (9:30 am) and Northern University of Bangladesh (NUB) vs South East University (SEU) (1:30 pm).
