IU celebrates 41st University Day

The authority of Islamic University (IU), Kushtia celebrated its 41st Founding Anniversary at the University campus on Friday much enthusiasm and festive mood.
 The day-long celebration included hoisting of the national flag and university flag, a colourful procession, cutting cake discussion programme, Dowa Munajat, and cultural event.
Marking the day, IU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rahsid Askari hoisted the national flag while its pro vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman hoisted the university flag in front of the administrative building on the campus attended by Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha and acting registrar SM Abdul Latif.
Besides, all residential halls provosts hoisted their respective flags in the same time.
IU Vice-Chancellor Dr Rashid Askari inaugurated the daylong programme by releasing pigeon and balloons.
A colourful procession was brought out from in front of the administrative building of the university led by VC Dr Rashid Askari around 9:30 am.
The procession were participated, among others by pro vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha, acting registrar SM Abdul Latif, proctor Prof Dr Paresh Chandra Barman, faculty deans, heads of the all departments, high officials, various voluntary organizations, teachers and students of the IU Laboratory School & college.
The procession gathered in a discussion programme in front of the administrative building after parading the main roads of the university.
Later, a cultural programme was held at the Bangla Monch presented by university students and local musician.
