IS claims attack on Shia mosque in Bogra

Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the gun attack on a Shia mosque in Bogra on Thursday night that left the muezzin dead and the imam and two others injured, US-based SITE Intelligence group says. The attack took place during the Maghrib prayers at Al-Mostefa mosque at Haripur in Shibganj Upazila. Witnesses said three young attackers sprayed bullets on the Muslims who were on Sijdah during the prayers leaving the muezzin of the mosque Moazzem Hossain, 70, of Haripur dead and three others injured. The injured are Shahinur Islam, 35, imam of the mosque; Abu Taher, 60, a mason; and Aftab Hossain, 42. This was the second attack on Shia Muslims in Bangladesh in just over a month. – risingbd.com
