The International Freshwater Dolphin Day will be observed today in the country like elsewhere in the world aiming to create awareness among people about the importance of the endangered aquatic species.
In collaboration with the Forest Department, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and IUCN Bangladesh, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has taken a three-day programme to observe the day.
The inaugural session of the progarmme will be held at the Liberation War Museum in the capital at 10 am tomorrow.
Deputy Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Habibun Nahar will be present at the inaugural function as the chief guest.
