Innovation Fair held at NIT

An Innovation Fair was held at the port city’s National Institute of Polytechnic yesterday amid record number of participation by the students.
A total of 92 innovations including the infrastructure of mega city, water management and self-directed traffic signal controller among others were exhibited at the NIT auditorium.
With Ahsanul Karim, Director of the NIT in chair, the opening ceremony was addressed by, the director of Rupali Bank and former president of Chittagong Press club Abu Sufian, USTC vice-chancellor Prof Dr Probad Chandra Barua, Director of Atomic Energy Center, Chittagong DrMasud Kamal, columnist SamsuddinShishir and Raojan club president Dr Omar Faruq.
Abu Sufian in his inaugural speech said, our meritorious students have been flourishing themselves across the globe and competing with the students of development countries. To achieve the goal of Vision-21, the technical education, which is more practical, effective and innovative should be upheld and the incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina put special eye on the technical education.
He also alleged that the anti-liberation party Jamaat-Shibir is trying to divert students to militancy but such an innovative fair through the participation of the meritorious students would prevent the them from being militant rather being involved the establishment of digital Bangladesh.
USTC vice-chancellor Prof DrProbad Chandra Barua said, Bangladesh will stand tall before the globe with the development of science and technology, saying those have the self-culture-resources-history, would obviously overcome the world.
The innovation fair, titled ‘skill-competition-2016’ was organized by NIT with co-sponsored by World Bank under Skills and Training Enhancement Project.
Two participants named Anjon and Shariful with their innovation of self-directed traffic signal said, ‘we are hopeful about our innovation and such a fair would encourage us to involve in innovative activities.
