The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Thursday set June 28 to pass order whether to indict six alleged Razakars including former Jamaat lawmaker Md Abdul Aziz alias Ghoramara Aziz from Gaibandha in crimes against humanity case.
The accused are Abdul Aziz alias Ghoramara Aziz, 65, Md Ruhul Amin alias Monju, 61, Md Abdul Latif, 61, Abu Muslim Mohammad Ali, 59, Md Nazmul Huda, 60, and Md Abdur Rahim Miah, 62. All of them are still on run. Justice Anwarul Haque, chairman of the three-member panel of ICT-1, set the date as the prosecution and defence concluded hearing on charge framing. Prosecutor Syed Sayedul Haque pleaded to frame charges against the accused saying those Razakars have committed monstrous crimes in their locality in 1971.
“They killed 15 local people’s representatives including UP chairmen and members,” said the prosecutor.
Advocate Gazi MH Tamim took part in the hearing from the defence side. Earlier the prosecution brought three charges of crimes against humanity including genocide and murder against the accused.
