The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT) on Wednesday summoned Prosecutor Barrister Turin Afroz for her ‘defamation-comment’ against war crimes accused Jamaat Leader ATM Azhar.
The court headed by Justice M Enayetur Rahim came up with the order.
The prosecutor called Azhar a ‘beast’ while she was placing her arguments against him before the tribunal on Tuesday, which was published in some national dailies.
The accused’s lawyer Shishir Monir drew the judge’s attention to the news item and demanded his ruling.
Following his plea, the tribunal issued the order.
