Former Secretary Syed Monjurul Islam has been elected the Islami Bank Foundation chairman. He elected chairman in a meeting of the Board of Directors of the bank in a city hotel on Thursday, said a bank press release.
The newly elected Chairman of IBF, Syed Monjurul Islam former Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Shipping, was the chairman of Bakhrabad Gas System Ltd., Jamuna Petroleum Ltd. and Standard Asiatic Oil Co. He also served as director of different Govt. institutions including Bangladesh Shilpo Bank (now BDBL), IFIC Bank, National Housing and Finance Ltd., BTCL, Industrial Promotion Development Co. and Bangladesh Shipping Co. He completes his B.com (Hons.) in Finance and MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University. He was born in 1956 at Rajoir Upazila of Madaripur District.
