Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit says both her recent films Dedh Ishqiya and Gulab Gang may not have been money-spinners at the box-office but her
job is to give her best and not compete with
newcomers.
Madhuri, 47, made a come back in Bollywood with Vishal Bharadwaj’s home production Dedh Ishqiya alongside Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi and followed it up with Shoumik Sen’s Gulab Gang with actress Juhi Chawla.
Dedh Ishqiya, a sequel to Ishqiya, released in
January this year and got an average response. Gulaab Gang centered on struggle of women
in the country.
Madhuri sets the record straight that she is not in the industry to compete with anyone and her only focus is to do good work. “I don’t have anything to prove to anyone at this point. I want to do good roles and be happy about it. I am not here to
compete with newcomers,” Madhuri said. n
