A housewife was murdered on the night of renting a new house in Ishwardi. The murder took place at Babupara in Paschim Tengri area of Ishwardi city sometime late on Thursday night. The name of the deceased housewife is Sonia Khatun (22). He was a factory worker in Ishwardi EPZ. Since the incident, the housewife’s husband Rubel Hossain is absconding.
Their three-year-old son is missing. Rubel was an expatriate. It is reported that he rented Ekram Ali’s Budur house in Ishwardi city last Wednesday.
The police recovered the body of housewife Sonia Khatun (22) from the rented house of Paschim Tengri Babupara in the municipal area on Thursday (September 29) around 8 am. Sonia is the daughter of Yunus Ali of Hamidpur village in Maheshpur district of Jhenaidah.
Ishwardi worked in a garment factory in EPZ. Initially the accused Rubel Hossain Jhenaidah is a resident of Hamidpur area of Maheshpur. They have a three-year-old son named Hamim.
The owner of the house, Ekram Ali Budu, said that on Wednesday, his relatives along with the husband and wife came and rented a flat on the second floor. Cooked and ate at night.
When I saw the door of the house open at 8 in the morning, I entered and saw Sonia’s body lying in a bloody state. He was wearing a burqa at the time. There are stab wounds to the throat and abdomen.
