A local court here on Monday sentenced life term imprisonment to husband Rokonuzzaman for killing his wife Nazma Begum in 2009 in Jessore.
The court also fined him Taka 20,000.
Jessore Special District and session Judge Nitai Chandra Saha pronounced the verdict.
Convict Rokonuzzaman is son of Hafizur Rahman of Atulia village in Jhikorgacha upazila of the district ,court sources said.
The prosecution story, in brief, is that housewife Nazma Begum, daughter of Abdus Salam of Mukterpur village in Chaugacha upazila, was killed by her husband over trivial matter in 2009 at Atulia village of Jhikorgacha upazila. On information, Police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Jessore General Hospital for post-mortem.
