Casting Kriti Sanon for Singh Is Bling has been the consequence of some
exhaustuing lead searching
expeditions, sources say.
The Prabhu Deva film,
starring Akshay Kumar,
never considered Kareena Kapoor as an option, for the role required a pretty, perky, energetic actress, and Kareena didn’t fit the bill, post
marriage. But Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone were definitely on the filmmaker’s and Akshay’s wishing list. Deepika, riding high on the wave of success presently, but the actor was busy with the Srk venture Happy New Year, the upcoming Imtiaz Ali film Tamaasha opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Bhansali’s next Bajirao Mastani.
Katrina was once Akshay’s lucky mascot, though Sonakshi replaced her later, But Katrina had her hands full with Bang Bang and reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor wasn’t thrilled with the notion of Kat acting with Akshay again, as their
chemistry onscreen sparked rumours of a relationship. This, of course, was never confirmed. Here’s hoping Kriti’s fate skyrockets post Singh Is Bling for the
dainty damsel has stepped into the shoes of Deepika
and Katrina Kaif.
