Joyanti Bala, wife of Faridpur Correspondent of Dainik Prothom Alo Panna Bala committed suicide by hanging herself in the early hours of Friday morning at their Jhiltuli residence in Faridpur. She was 38.
According to family sources Joyanti committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in the living room adjacent to their bed room. Panna Bala first saw the dead body hanging from the ceiling fan when she woke up at 7 AM in the morning.
They lived in the ground floor of a two storied building. On the first floor Joyanti’s mother- in -law Anjali Bala alone resides. Joyanti Bala left behind her only daughter Kasturi, 10, husband Panna, mother-in- law and relatives and well wishers to mourn her death.
Kotwali Police recorded a UD case in this connection.
Score of local journalists and elite of the town visited the residence and expressed their sympathy at the death of Joyanti.
