Due to active monsoon over Bangladesh heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions during the next twenty four hours commencing at 11 am on Saturday.
Under the influence of heavy to very heavy rainfall landslide may occur at places over the hilly regions of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, said a weather forecast report here yesterday.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoist local cautionary signal No-three, the official release said.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice, the release added.
The highest rainfall was recorded by 256 millimeters (mm) for last 24 hours at Sandwip followed by 241 mm held at Teknaf.
