News Desk :
When the car of Major (retd) Sinha was stopped at the Shamlapur check post, he got out of the car, raised his hands and knelt down. He had no weapon in his hand at that moment. The new investigation officer (IO) informed this to RAB Director General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun when he visited the spot on Monday.
The RAB DG said the investigation would be completed soon, adding that they were not embarrassed to investigate the case against the police.
Senior ASP Khairul Islam, the IO of the case, showed the location to the RAB Director General where Inspector Liaquat fired ex-Major Sinha. He also showed the drum used to stop the vehicle at the Shamlapur checkpost in Teknaf and where Sinha’s body fell after being shot.
RAB’s Additional Director General of Operations told DG that Sinha’s car stopped at the BGB check-post before coming to the Shamlapur checkpost. Analyzing CCTV footage there, they did not find any evidence of chasing the car, he said.
After the inspection, the RAB DG said that the investigation is progressing positively. “We are investigating every piece of information that we get. You will know everything,” RAB DG said.
The RAB chief flew by a helicopter yesterday morning to supervise the investigation of the case.
