Grant Elliot, the 39-year old seam bowling all-rounder from New Zealand has decided to retire from professional cricket after the on going T20 Blast season in England.
Currently the New Zealand all-rounder is leading Birmingham Bears in the T20 Blast season in England. This time his team has failed to go to the knockout stage of the tournament. So he is forced to have a premature end to his professional cricket career.
He announced his decision in BBC WM’s Bears Podblast that “I’ll be open to games in Switzerland, ice cricket and those sorts of things, But, in terms of competitive cricket and playing for teams around the world, I’m keen on trying to create something outside of the game.”
