Percentage of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination of 2018 under Barishal Education Board deteriorated but increasing GPA-5 than previous year blaming creative question systems.
Three schools scored zero-pass rate, which was two in previous year.
It was said by Prof. Anowerul Azim, BEB controller of examination in press briefing held at his office Sunday morning.
In 2018 the percentage of pass in SSC under this board was 77.11 including 3,462 GPA-5.
This year 79,520 examinees passed SSC with 3,462 GPA-5 out of 103,124 examinees appeared from 1425 institutions under 172 examination centers in Barishal Education Board.
In 2017 it was 77.24 with 2,288 with GPA-5 out of 93,676 examinees appeared.
Besides in 2016 , the pass rate was 79.41 percent, 84.37 in 2015, 90.66 in 2014, 88.63 in 2013, 86.67 percent in 2012, 83.40 in 2011 and 74.64 percent in 2010.
Total 3,462 (3.36 percent ) passed SSC with GPA-5 this year which was 2,288 in 2017,and 3,113 in 2016, and 3,171 in 2015 and 4,762 in 2014 and 3,514 in 2013.
This year 3 ( Veronbaria Girls School with 5 examinees and Islamia Secondary High School with 17 examinees under Nalcity upazila of Jhalakathi district), Uttar Moukaran AH Secondary School of Dumki under Patuakhali district with 7 examinees) out of 1,425 schools scored zero-percent pass rate.
The zero-percent passed schools were 2 in 2017 and in 2016, none in 2015, one in 2014, none in 2013, 2012, one in 2011 and four in 2010, said Prof. Anowerul Azim, controller of examination Barishal Education Board after disclosing the result. This year cent-percent examinees passed SSC from 50 institutions which was 87 institutions in 2017, 79 in 2016, and 146 in 2015 and 208 in 2014.
Prof. Anowerul Azim, controller of examinations BEB, said creative form of question caused bad results especially in Mathematics, English as educational institutions, teachers, students yet to be habituated with this curriculum.##
Another reports adds : After publishing the secondary school certificate examination 2018 result of Barishal Education Board it was learnt that girls and science group examinees done better in SSC 2018 from Barishal Education Board.
Prof. Biplob Kumar Bhattachargi, acting chairman BEB, disclosing these facts said total 40,469(79.02 percent) female examinees, out of 51, 212 appeared female examinees passed with 1801 ( out of total 3,462) GPA-5.
It was 36,967 (79.82 percent) out of 46,315 appeared female examinees passed SSC with 1,255 GPA-5 from Barishal Board in 2017.
On other hand in group-wise result science group done better than other groups as 24,255 (89.70 percent) out of 27,041 examinees of science group passed SSC 2018 with 3,228 GPA-5.
Thirty-two examinees were expelled from this group for adopting unfair means in the examination, the acing board chairman added.
However 22,724 (79.15 percent) out of 28,709 examinees from business studies group with 128 GPA-5 passed SSC 2018. Twenty-three examinees were expelled from this group for adopting unfair means in the examination.
From humanities group 32,541 (68.69 percent ) out of 47,374 appeared examinees passed SSC 2018 with 1o6 GPA-5 from BEB.
Forty-eight examinees of this group were expelled for adopting unfair means in the examination, board chairman said. In district-wise result Bhola district became top of the list with 83.08 percent pass rate and 10 cent-percent pass institutions.
Then Barguna district with 81.70 percent pass rate with 11 cent-percent pass institutions, Pirojpur district with 80.72 percent pass rate with 4 cent-percent pass institutions, Barishal district with 76.95 percent pass rate with 16 cent-percent pass institutions, Patuakhali district with 74.62 percent pass rate with 6 cent-percent pass institutions and Jhalakathi district with 62.25 percent pass rate with 6 cent-percent pass institutions.
