Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder on Saturday said that the government was working sincerely to ensure food safety in the country.
“A total of 463 agencies have started working across the country to ensure nutritious food for all,” said the Minister in a discussion meeting in the conference room of the Naogaon Deputy Commissioner’s office after inaugurating a rally for National Food Safety Day in the town.
The Minister also said that committees have already been formed at the district and sub-district levels in this regard
The Minister said, “The main objective and
challenge to our government in this regard are to ensure safe and nutritious food for all. The government is working with zero tolerance policy to achieve these goals.”

The Minister said, “Restaurants and hotels will be brought under a grading system with a view to preventing them from selling unsafe foods, while Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) will supervise.”
Naogaon Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mizanur Rahman presided over the programme.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rashedul Huq and District Food Controller Kamal Hossain, among others were present.
